The Theatre @Boston Court has announced its 2016 season:
1) Narrated by the ghost of a missing 15-year-old girl, Colony Collapse (by Stefanie Zadravek, directed by Jessica Kubzansky) explores the cost one family is willing to pay for a second chance. In an effort to get their lives on track, recovering addicts Mark and Julia have taken over the day-to-day operations of an apple orchard in rural Oregon. With little experience, the couple quickly realizes they are in over their heads, yet they still believe if they produce a viable crop, a new beginning is possible. (World Premiere; opens February 20, 2016)
2) At the center of The Golden Dragon (by Roland Schimmelpfennig, translated by David Tushingham, directed by Michael Michetti) is a Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant where a young Chinese man suffering from an oversensitive incisor sparks a series of interconnected stories. (Southern California Premiere; opens May 7, 2016)
3) Bars and Measures (by Idris Goodwin, directed by Weyni Mengesha): Two brothers, both musicians. The classical pianist is Christian. The jazz bassist is Muslim. When Bilal is accused of being a terrorist and jailed awaiting trial, Eric tries to stay connected by pushing aside his own classical aspirations in order to learn big brother’s jazz style. (Rolling World Premiere; opens September 25, 2016)
