Rising property values in Southern California are destabilizing arts organizations at an escalating rate — particularly the smaller theaters. The number of these theaters in Los Angeles County has fallen by 47% over 10 years, according to an internal L.A. Weekly study. Their loss is a direct consequence of rising real estate prices.
